Former Devils Shine in Bowl Games
Current & Former Devils Recognized

The annual college football bowl season is in full swing and former Devil players have seen action.  Brandon Perry and Sacoby Carter helped the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders defeat the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles in the New Orleans Bowl played at the Superdome on December 20, 2009.  Brandon had 3 total tackles including one TFL and Sacoby had one assist in the contest.  The Blue Raiders won their 10th game of the season in the process  and finished the season with seven straight wins.  The Blue Raiders ten wins are the most since 1992.  Brandon Perry has completed his career with MTSU while Sacoby Carter returns for his junior season next year.  Robert Hall and Jim Henry will represent Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl as the Jackets take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Hall suffered a season ending knee injury against the Miami Hurricanes and in currently in rehab trying to prepare for his senior season next year.

DeQuan Bembry intercepted a pass with 40 seconds left to clinch the Marshall Thundering Herd's win over Ohio University in the Little Ceaser's Bowl played at the Silverdome in Detroit, Michigan.  Bembry also had 4 total tackles including 1 sack during the game to go along with his game clinching interception.  Bembry returns for his junior season next year and has been a two year starter at cornerback for the Herd.

Post season honors are coming in for three Red Devil players.  Fabian Forrest was named to the All Middle Georgia football team as named by the Macon Telegraph as a third team running back.  The team is made up of players from all classifications from around the Middle Georgia area.  Forrest is a junior running back and has gave over 1000 yards in each of his first three seasons with the Devils.  Kimberly Carr and Jordan Conner were named Honorable Mention All Middle Georgia in softball.

In a month long contest sponsored by the Macon Telegraph to name an All Decade Football team, some former Devils were recognized. Charles Johnson, currently with the Carolina Panthers, was named by the voters as one of the defensive ends to the squad.  He received 28% of the fan votes.  The Telegraph also named a squad of its own picking and four former Devils were recognized.  Johnson was joined on that team by former offensive lineman Trey Dunmon and safety LaFallis Anderson and defensive lineman Brandon Perry.  Dunmon finished his career with the Georgia Southern Eagles after the 2009 season. Anderson holds the school record in both career and single season interceptions.  Anderson helped lead the Devils to the 2003 state championship with 12 interceptions.

Congrats to all the current and former players!
